What is BITE & Tackle?
BITE & Tackle is a fast, easy, streamlined and affordable solution to the complicated and expensive world of catering in NYC. B&T is truly unique in it's ability to offer fully catered cocktail and dinner parties without the hassle and expense of traditional catering. We've simplified the menu down to a "greatest hits" list, trimmed the fat from the service wares and event design to avoid multiple vendors, contract revisions and all the extra "overhead" in order to offer a BITE new york event at just a fraction of the cost.
How much set up is included?
Our staff will arrive 90 minutes prior to your selected start time. After a quick discussion with you (the host), they'll set up the bar and begin preparation for the selected menu. Our staff are all well trained and experienced NYC caterers - we have the cities best service staff - and can help make suggestions and decisions to guarantee that your party is a success.
Can BITE & Tackle provide the alcohol for my party?
Unfortunately, the answer is NO. There are some fairly convoluted reasons for this, but suffice it to say, that because of the quick turnaround of a B&T party (up to 72 hours), we can't follow the law AND sell you booze. Luckily, there are very easy and simple solutions for your needs through MiniBarDelivery.com, Bottlerocket.com, Drizly.com or your favorite neighborhood wine shop. There's no need to put anything in the refrigerator or unpack - just show our staff where it is and they'll get it ready and on ice with plenty of time to spare. Can I make more selections than what's included? (I'll PAY!)
Unfortunately, the answer here is NO as well. A main reason why we're able to offer B&T with almost no lead time and a fraction of the rate is our pre-designed menus and how they relate to staff requirements, packaging, transportation and a bunch of other stuff that makes catering time consuming and expensive. It's a carefully arranged package and there's a reason we're the only ones doing it. Straying from the designed package would veer into customization, which steers us out of B&T and into the realm of BITE new york (which isn't a bad place to be, either). How much time is included?
The cost includes 90 minutes of setup, 2 hours of party time and 1 hour of breakdown. Often, our staff can really push and get out of your hair in under 45 minutes, so if the party is going over by a few minutes - don't sweat it. Our staff is only contracted with you until an hour after your scheduled end time. If you're in a bind - it never hurts to ask. Most often, someone is willing to help for another hour or so.
Compensation for additional time should be negotiated between the host and server. NYC going rates are approximately $50 per hour. (I know - but this is New York).
Is gratuity included?
NO, gratuity is not included. There's an option to add gratuity at check-out or, if you'd prefer, you can handle that as host in person.
Will B&T work for my corporate event, too?
We think it works great for all kinds of applications. BITE & Tackle can accommodate smaller groups at different times of the day, i.e.:

(Our cocktail is sent as a non-alcoholic base that is appropriate for any time of day, as well.)
Most of the corporate clients we work with at BITE new york are on tough budget restrictions for their smaller promotional events. So often, it's a real struggle to make the numbers work while still offering a great product. We think B&T really helps solve this issue.
What will the staff be wearing?
Our B&T staff uniform is a White Cocktail dress for women and a white collared button down with khaki pants for men (black shoes). If your party requires different attire, you can make a request on the check-out form. We'll respond as quickly as possible. Most reasonable requests can be accommodated. Some standard looks:
• All Black
• Black Pants, White Shirt, Black Tie
•Casual (think "meet the parents" attire)
Does BITE & Tackle ship to The Hamptons, NY?
In the summer, YES! BITE & Tackle is now serving Hamptons locations for the Summer season of 2017. When placing your Summer order, just select "Hamptons, NY" under the "Event Location" drop down menu. Hamptons events do cost an additional fee for transportation and travel logistics.
